If it is still daylight, I try were I can, to stop for just half an hour, it that is all I have, but I have had occasion, such as when when my mother was visiting, & the three of us stopped — my mother, husband & me — to be able to meander in that enchanted forest for more than an hour — joyfully breathing in that wonderful oxygenated air.Cathedral Grove is home to very tall Douglas Firs, some of which are 800 years old, & one can see some which are 9m in circumference.Encountering something 800 years old is always heartstouppiing & confirming of the life forces which survive over eons, giving a sense of hope that life goes on, even with the most difficult times of challenge, such as we are facing now with the pandemic.Cathedral, which is usually open 24-hours, is closed currently but is likely soon to reopen as the B.C.
